Garden Tour: The Rainbow Project by Harrisons Landscaping
Nestled in the heart of Sydney, the Rainbow Project is a serene garden and pool design that seamlessly blends modern sophistication with the natural beauty of its urban surroundings.
Harrison's Landscaping has created a lush retreat, thoughtfully integrating a curated plant palette to complement the space.
At the centre of this urban oasis is a stunning swimming pool framed by polished concrete coping. The pool provides a striking contrast to the home’s organic elements, such as reclaimed bricks and raw timber accents, achieving a harmonious balance between contemporary style and rustic charm.
A standout feature of this project is the use of raw materials. Exposed brick and raw timber bring warmth and character, while polished custom concrete stepping stones and millboard stairs add modern durability and a refined finish.
The carefully selected greenery enhances the garden’s appeal while thriving in its urban setting. Key plants include:
-
Sansevieria (Snake Plant): Architectural and low-maintenance, perfect for modern spaces.
-
Heliconia: Tropical and vibrant, with bold leaves that add drama to the garden.
-
Kalanchoe ‘Silver Spoons’: A shimmering succulent with silvery foliage that catches the light.
-
Crassula ‘Blue Birds’: Eye-catching with its textured, blue-hued leaves.
-
Rosemary: A fragrant addition that offers both beauty and culinary use.
This project showcases how thoughtful design and clever use of materials can transform an urban space into a tranquil retreat.
