General Care

Sunlight:
Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate medium to low indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sunlight.

Water:
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Expect to water more often in brighter light and less often in lower light.

Humidity:
Any humidity level will do, but it loves humid areas like bathrooms and kitchens.

Soil:
Use a good quality potting mix in your garden pots.

Common Problems

Pests:
Pothos is an easy-going plant and generally pest-free. Treat pests as soon as they appear with weekly sprays of a natural pesticide like neem oil, and regularly wipe down the leaves.

Symptoms and Causes:

  • Lack of growth, thin stems: This could be due to being root bound. Consider repotting or pruning.
  • Yellow leaves, rotten brown base: Typically caused by overwatering.

Precautions

Pothos can be irritating to cats, dogs, and humans if the foliage is consumed. It’s best to keep houseplants out of reach of small children and pets.
